Peoples’ Meat market was founded by Julius Falkavage in 1938.

Peoples Meat Market - Stevens Point, WI
In January of 1954 Julius Falkavage Passed away. Shortly after that the family sold their square and south side stores. In 2000 Lee Falkavage realized his dream of bringing the old fashion meat market back to Stevens Point. Lee turned in his scalpel (He was a surgical nurse) for a butcher knife, and opened Peoples’ Meat market in it’s current location on Highway J. After only two years in business (on December 30 2002) the building burned to the ground, but by April 2003 the meat Market was again open for business, bigger and better than before.
People’s Meat market is the only full service meat market in Portage County. We offer a full line of smoked sausages, fresh sausages, hams and bacon. We also do custom slaughter of farm animals, offer sides of beef, Pork, and lamb. At the present time we grow our own eggs for the store and fresh soup chickens. I maintain freshness and quality without adding hormones or flavor enhancers. We only sell choice beef in our show case. Halves and quarters are from a local farm, and work very closely with the farmers to ensure quality. All halves and quarters we sell are Black Angus.
